Memphis

For months, Sade and I have been working on having a very special speaker while we are in Memphis. As it got closer and closer to the day for us to leave I thought maybe we would miss out. However, I got the call today that we are going to get to meet with Rev. Billy Kyles before we tour the National Civil Rights Museum. Rev. Kyles with with Dr. King when he was shot. His viewpoint of Dr. King's life is very inspiring and I am so glad that our U of I students are all going to get the chance to meet him!! Our last day of the trip is going to be so special! I can't wait to hit the road tomorrow!!

  1. WOW that is so cool! I can't wait to meet him. Rev. Kyles was actually at the motel when Dr. King when he was assassinated. He speaks about his experience that day in a TIME article a few years ago.
