Day 2 - What a Day

What an exciting day today turned out to be! Church at Ebenezer Baptist Church was incredible first,  I met Dr. Julian Bond, civil rights activist - what an honor to talk to a man I've seen on television and knew the role he played in our history. Next, Rev. Dr. Natosha Rice gave a word that rang not only with Christianity but also social justice and she talked about putting aside the "rules" and accepting people as they are and connecting out weekdays to our Sabath. Her words of life is for the living were salient to me - The spirit in Ebenezer was high and interactive. It was awesome to have my family join me for the day. Lunch at CNN was fun and there was a Hawks game and marathon happening in downtown Atlanta today.  The Center for Civil and Human Rights was incredible! It was interactive, informative and had the best museum t-shirts yet! Dr. Julian Bond was there too and talked even more Dr. Bailey from UIUC was also there - last but not least Dinner at Mary Mac's was worth the wait - it's my hope that the Illinois students know how incredible these opportunities are and that the dialogue on the bus remains authentic and questions remain unfiltered -
